About

Rescue Dog Wines

Our mission is to support the placement of as many rescue dogs as possible into loving homes through wine sales and donations. Our business is producing fine wines; our passion is helping rescue dogs.

Laura and I started planning our new life in wine country in 2015. We knew that we wanted to embrace sustainable growing practices and create a new, more rewarding lifestyle for ourselves. In addition, we knew that we wanted enough land to grow wine grapes AND foster dogs. We knew at some point in time we wanted to create high quality, premium wines. During this period of exploration throughout many of California’s wine regions it dawned on us that we could combine our two passions and Rescue Dog Wines was born!

Fast forward a few years and we now are pleased to offer a full lineup of wines, many from our sustainable green neighbor’s vineyards or our Lodi Rules certified vineyard in Acampo, California. Our commitment is to give 50 percent of our profits to rescue dog and charity organizations

Cheers!

How We Give

We support rescue dogs in many ways, ranging from wine donations for fundraising, to endowments, to volunteering our time and personally fostering dogs.

We prefer to donate wine for fundraising. To do that we tend to donate locally in California or in other states where we have distribution, so our partners can donate on our behalf. If you’re really close by, we can potentially show up and pour our wines at your rescue organization’s event! We donate 50% of our profits to rescue dog and charitable organizations!

Who We Are

Daisy | Rescue Dog Wines

Daisy

The Inspiration

Everything starts with Daisy. She is the inspiration for all our creativity and playfulness. In Atlanta Daisy introduced herself to Laura at a rescue dog shelter and left a profound impression that led to the creation of Rescue Dog Wines.

Laura Lott

Laura Lott

Cofounder

Laura graduated from Trinity University with a degree in French literature and also completed a master’s degree from Thunderbird Graduate School.

Laura became an HR specialist, working for Motorola, Los Alamos National Lab and Sears. She then left the corporate world and took a journey of exploration, investigating her creative side.

She and Blair traveled to wine regions regularly and one of the markers along the way which preceding founding the winery was a trip Laura and Blair took to France for a landmark birthday: they spent three weeks traveling through vineyards in France and Spain. She and Blair began with the idea of their own vineyards, which then came to include the idea of making wine from those grapes. Thanks to the delicious memories of her childhood and her travels with Blair, she is a believer in farm to table food and wine.

Blair Lott

Blair Lott

Chief Executive Officer

Blair spent the first years of his career working in the music world—writing and performing in Athens, Georgia and then moving to Nashville and later to Melbourne, Australia. He transitioned into a livelihood as a digital media consultant.

During his three years in Australia he became immersed in the wine and food scene and intrigued with the idea of making wine his vocation. After moving back to Atlanta and marrying his wife Laura, they decided to move to northern California to be closer to wine country as well as Laura’s family.

Susana Rodriguez Vasquez

Susana Rodriguez Vasquez

Chief Consulting Winemaker

Susana Rodriguez Vasquez was born and raised in the town of Cochabamba, located in the valley region of Bolivia. The daughter of professors, she was raised in the countryside where her love of agriculture was sparked. This lead her to Universidad Mayor de San Simon to receive her B.S. in Agriculture.

Susy made her way to the US on an internship at Cal Poly in organic crops; she then later became a liaison between the winemakers and vineyards for Gallo and soon after discovered her passion for winemaking. After receiving her Winemaker Certificate from UC Davis Viticulture Department, Susy has spent the last 10 years making her mark as an exceptional winemaker, both at Gallo and Constellation. In addition she lead Peltier Winery’s wine making team where she quickly became a bright and shining star. She now divides her time between RDW and her other consulting clients. Susy has an impeccable palate for choosing the right grapes and revels each step of the way in the winemaking process, from crush to glass. Her love for what she does creates a passion that is infectious; making everyone strive to be better.

In her free time, Susy enjoys running, specially during harvest! But more importantly than that, she loves RV’ing near the beach with her husband David and two children Faviola and Lukas.

Eric Donaldson

Eric Donaldson

Eric Donaldson, the Lodi regions’ premier “Rockstar” maker of Methode Champanoise wines, utilizes his finely tuned mastercraft skills to create our unique, ultra-premium Sparkling Wines. Eric is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio as well as having completed the UC Davis Extension Viticulture and Enology Program.

Kendra DeMoura

Kendra DeMoura

Chief Marketing Officer

Kendra grew up in Massachusetts and studied writing, literature, and publishing at Emerson College in Boston. She began her career in the publishing industry, cultivating editorial and production skills with book publishers and science journals. A move to the Bay Area fueled her growing passion for food and wine and ultimately a career change to the culinary arts. After culinary school and cooking in the Oakland restaurant scene, Kendra realized she deeply missed writing and content creation. Another cross-country move to Savannah, Georgia sparked inspiration once again: after settling in her new home, she launched a cause marketing agency, through which she met and began working with the team at Rescue Dog Wines. Since Kendra is the best pal of her three rescue dogs, Gatsby, Daisy, and Scout, it was naturally a great fit.
