Reflecting on an Impactful 2023

Feb 1, 2024 | News

What a wonderful and wag-worthy wine year 2023 was for us at Rescue Dog Wines! As I reflect on last year’s achievements, I’m filled with a sense of joy and pride in what we accomplished. This past year was about more than just wine; it was about community, compassion, and, of course, our four-legged friends.

A Heart for Helping: Our Donations

Our team, with the amazing support of our customers, managed to donate a remarkable $36,900 in wine, capital, and services to various rescue organizations last year. This contribution underscores our dedication to the welfare of rescue dogs, the very heart of our mission.

Spreading Our Paws: Distribution Milestones—California and Oregon

We’ve expanded our paw print in the wine world! We’re now delighting wine enthusiasts throughout California, thanks to our partnership with Classic Wines of California. Not stopping there, we’ve also ventured into Oregon, teaming up with American Northwest Distributors. We also plan to announce additional new states in the near future. It’s exciting to see our wines reaching more people and, in turn, supporting more rescue dogs.

Cheers to Quality: Accolades for Our Wines

Our 2021 Pinot Noir (Central Coast) was a real showstopper, fetching a 99 Double Gold at the California State Fair, and our new 2022 Chardonnay (Lodi) received a 91 Gold from BTI. However, it’s not just about the numbers; it’s about the love and care we and our winemaker Susana Rodriguez Vasquez pour into every bottle. And while it’s technically 2024 news, we just found out our Demi-Sec received Double Gold in the 2024 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. These accolades are a toast to our team’s hard work and commitment to quality.

Out and About: Events and Personal Engagement

Last year was buzzing with over 40 events! Laura and I were thrilled to meet so many of you in person. Each event was an opportunity to share our story, listen to yours, and bond over our shared love of wine and rescue dogs. We look forward to an even better 2024.

As we look back on 2023, it’s clear that our journey is about more than just wine. It’s about creating a community of wine lovers and dog advocates, united by a common passion. Here’s to more years of delightful wines and wagging tails!

Cheers to a 2024 filled with joy, community, and—of course—excellent wine for a cause!

-Blair & Laura
